Led by an international faculty of well-known experts in the field, this course will be an introduction to minimally invasive esophagectomy and gastrectomy (including robotic surgery). Several lectures will show the vast possibilities as well as potential pitfalls of these procedures. Conventional endoscopic systems and new surgical techniques including robotic systems will be available during hands on sessions on cadavers. Finally, tips will be given on how to implement minimally invasive gastrectomy and esophagectomy in your own center. Educational Methods: plenary lectures, anatomy sessions, and hands-on surgery workshops with human cadavers and custom made models.
